Kairos Homeschool Academy is a homeschool provider built to meet 5 fundamental needs of homeschooling families in the Filipino-Chinese community. Through our partnership with the United Evangelical Church of Malabon, we strive to provide these 5 core services for Kairos families.
- Christian. Kairos is a Christian entity that aims to serve families who wish to train their children in godliness and truth. All grade levels include the Bible subject; and students, as well as parents, are constantly guided by a Christian faculty and staff.
- Chinese. There are unique needs in the Chinese community that require special attention. All our students learn Chinese as an academic subject, and all school events are directed by traditional, Filipino-Chinese values. This is the homeschool provider the grandparents will be happy to hear about!
- Curriculum. For Kairos families, the energy of homeschooling goes into the actual teaching, as all the footwork of curriculum development falls on us. Each year, students receive a full set of learning materials – including tests, project directions, and teacher’s guide – and can go directly to enjoying the content of the books themselves.
- Community. Have you ever felt the weight of tackling homeschooling by yourself? Kairos provides the community support of fellow students, moms, dads, and even grandparents as they gather for school events and activities. Need a listening ear? We’re right here for you.
- Certification. Last, but not the least, Kairos aims to serve students by providing a recognized form of learning that acknowledges the students’ efforts. Reports on student performance and behavior are issued on a quarterly basis, and we make sure we observe each child’s strengths and weaknesses – to provide the most accurate assessments possible!

This year, Kairos will host an inquiry session on Sunday, February 25, from 2:00-5:00 p.m., right here in the United Evangelical Church of Malabon. Let our teachers and staff introduce our system, answer your questions, and give you a tour of our facilities. Explore what makes Kairos work the way it does, and help us to help you in your homeschooling journey.
See you there!
The Kairos office will be out of reach during the Christmas holidays from December 18-31, 2017. Please contact us through e-mail or social media in case of any concerns. A blessed Christmas to all!
Kairos parents aren’t left to homeschool all on their own. Whether through materials, seminars, events, MAPEH classes, or regular communication, we help our parents experience the benefits of an educational community.
Stuck on a certain subject? Our teachers and fellow families are right here in the thick of it with you. Need friendship and encouragement? Whom better to befriend than parents and children who understand exactly what you’re going through?
Homeschooling is not lone schooling. Let Kairos be the Christian, Chinese community your child needs.
Homeschooling without guidance or structure can be a daunting experience. Kairos simplifies the work for our families by providing curriculum, training, and community for all students and parents. By pre-dividing each year’s studies into four quarters, Kairos helps families focus on teaching one step at a time. By developing all tests, exams, and daily work requirements ahead of time, we let our parents invest themselves in the most valuable area of all: spending time to teach and enjoy their children.
Kairos strives to provide structure for families through our scheduling, curriculum, and group activities. At the same time, families may be as flexible as desired in teaching different subjects within each assigned quarter. Freedom and structure coexist to create the best possible educational opportunities for our students.
Homeschooling, at its heart, is parent-led, home-based education. At Kairos, we enable families through curriculum, seminars, and teaching materials to work towards the best possible home environment for their children’s schooling. Kairos parents teach and guide their kids in person, often experiencing new lessons along with their kids!
Committed parents are the very best teachers students can have. By providing whatever we can to help families reach their homeschooling goals, we strive to make lifelong learning a possibility for all of our beloved families. When the kids learn, the parents do too!
Learning a new language is a time of great discovery and great challenge. Whether students are second language learners who are immersed in their target language’s culture or foreign language learners who are attempting to acquire a language not available in their immediate environment, students need assistance to make acquiring a new tongue a successful endeavor.
At Kairos, our Chinese curriculum is designed for heritage language learners – students who have experienced the Chinese language in their family and home, who understand the value of its legacy. Filipino is approached as a second language while English is built as a mother tongue. Students are expected to master English and basic Chinese in preschool and to learn Filipino starting from Grade One.
By combining home environment and school instruction, we aim to make multilingual learning a reality for all.
Homeschooling is a calling that comes to families at different times of their lives. Whether your family is currently holding a newborn, reconsidering conventional school, or facing a change in lifestyle – homeschooling can be that window into several bright new worlds. There is no limit to the vocations of parents who can homeschool, and there is no limit on where children learn.
No matter where or how the Lord calls your family, may each chapter be an opportunity to grow together!
